ALVTechnologies Philippines Incorporated, together with our manufacturer Horiba Scientific, would like to invite you to join our webinar on the topic of “What is Fluorescence, Part 3: Lifetime and Time-Resolved Emission Spectroscopy“ on September 22, 2026 at 4:00 PM (Philippine Time).
“I’ve had the Time of my Life” …
The third educational tutorial on fluorescence spectroscopy is dedicated to time-resolved measurements, in particular lifetime analysis. The characterisation of photoluminescence phenomena over time is vital for a complete description of the excited-state dynamics. This study is supported by relating photoluminescence intensity to the decay time of emitted photons, i.e. emission lifetime. Lifetime is independent of photobleaching and concentration, but is relevant when studying the same substances in different environments or probing various physical parameters, such as pH, viscosity, and even temperature. Time-resolved analysis is a very sensitive technique allowing the study of any photoluminescent species: materials and semiconductors, bio- and synthetic molecules, in solution or in solid-state.
The webinar will cover various lifetime techniques and analyses, such as:
- Differences between Time- and Frequency-Domain techniques;
- Time-resolved Emission Spectra – TRES;
- Time-Correlated Single-Photon Counting for nanosecond lifetimes – TCSPC;
- Microsecond lifetime techniques: Multichannel Scaling – MCS, SSTD & boxcar;
- Applications for lifetime analysis: FRET, FLIM & Time-resolved Anisotropy.
Key learning objectives:
- This webinar will be of great interest to anyone learning the fundamentals of fluorescence lifetime analysis and time-resolved spectroscopy for applications in material and life sciences.
