Contactless Conductivity Detector

The ER815 C4D Detector is a high sensitivity capacitively-coupled contactless conductivity detector (C4D) for capillary electrophoresis, microchip electrophoresis, ion chromatograph/HPLC and flow injection analysis. It can be used with:

  • eDAQ software such as Chart or PowerChrom software (request the applications firmware), or
  • Third-party software (request the serial firmware). This includes ChemStation from Agilent, 32 Karat from Beckman Coulter and LabVIEW (using the virtual serial interface over USB connection to computer). In this configuration, the ER815 provides both analog and serial data output.

The excitation frequency and amplitude can be optimised by the user for maximum signal sensitivity, using the C4D Profiler software which is included. The unit must be used together with an eDAQ C4D headstage suitable for your application. The ER825 C4D Detector is a multi-channel version of the ER815. The ER825 can record the conductivity at up to eight positions on a capillary or tubing.

Multi-Channel Contactless Conductivity Detector

The ER825 C4D Detector is a flexible and configurable, 8 channel workstation. It supports capacitively-coupled contactless conductivity detection (C4D) for capillary electrophoresis, microchip electrophoresis, ion chromatograph/HPLC and flow injection analysis applications. In addition, signals from other sensors and analog voltages can be measured and recorded simultaneously.

The ER825 supports between one and eight channels of data. The number and type of channels must be specified when the unit is ordered. This enables the measurement of conductivity and other parameters such as pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen etc. at up to eight locations in a system. This makes the ER825 into a true Multichannel Configurable Chemistry Workstation.

Two module types are available:

  • EA010 General Purpose Module for connecting to isoPods or direct analog inputs.
  • EA025 C4D Headstage Module for connection to C4D headstages. The C4D excitation frequency and amplitude can be optimised by the user for maximum signal sensitivity, using the C4D Profiler software which is included.

It can be used with:

  • eDAQ software such as Chart (maximum of 8 channels) or PowerChrom (maximum of 2 channels) software, or
  • Third-party software, including ChemStation from Agilent, 32 Karat from Beckman Coulter and LabVIEW (using the virtual serial interface over USB connection to computer). In this configuration, the ER825 provides both analog and serial data output.

The unit should be purchased with one the required number of EA010 and EA025 Modules. Systems can be expanded or reconfigured at the nearest eDAQ office.
